Surface Preparation
Surface preparation for Italian plaster and polished plaster finishes is as important as the plaster application itself and the best way to approach this issue is prepare the walls or surfaces that will be plastered in the same manner as if they were going to be painted.
Proper attention to surface preparation will help eliminate the possibilities of unwanted errors showing through the finished surface. Also the drywall joints should be checked, be they new or old walls and especially the end or "butt" joints.
Finally and again also as important as the application again, the Wall Primers as this is the bond between the old surface and new Marmorino to be applied.
If your walls are old stucco walls then these should be treated in a different manner. Because you are putting an expensive Venetian stucco product on these walls greater care will have to be given to them.
