Marmocorallo Application

Marmocorallo application notes geared towards the novice or beginner. Advanced applicators will know how to make the application a little easier due to their experience and this may allow for omitting step 1 below.

We always recommend that you apply a base coat of either Marmocarrara or Marmorino KS with all of your applications involving Marmoclassic, Marmocarrara, Marmobreccia, Marmodorato, Marmocorallo and Grassello Lucido. This will help with ease of application due to the amount of extra suction added by the base coat.

Step 1:

Apply a first coat of Marmorino KS or Marmocarrara quite liberally and making sure to keep as many ridges and trowel imperfections out of the base coat as possible. It will be ok to fall back on what you have spread after about 10 minutes and flatten it down a little. It is not necessary to color this coat.

Allow this coat to fully dry over night.

Step 2:

Apply a first coat of Marmocorallo again making sure to apply quite liberally and at the same time keeping ridges and trowel imperfections out as much as possible.

Allow this coat to dry fully over night.

Step 3:

Apply second coat of Marmocorallo but this time it will be applied using less material than in the previous step and again keeping ridges and trowel imperfections to a minimum.

When this coat is about 50% dry it is necessary to begin with the final coat.

The process here will be to press in some more Marmocorallo where ever it will go in order to make a uniform smooth finish.

If you want a polished finish, after about each square meter it will be necessary to fall back and begin to burnish, sometimes another applicator will best be suited to carry out this process only.

If you want a finish that will be matt or semi-polished it will be necessary to allow this coat to dry a little before beginning the burnishing process.

Allow this coat to fully dry over night.

Step 4:

Apply a coating of either Liquid Beeswax or Marseille Soap Paste.
